News of a free workshop for young people
And a little hello and quick question from me...
Hello there,
It’s been a while and to be honest, I’m not quite sure where this past month has gone! In between starting a new (dream) job, hosting some wonderful women for Solo Retreats and generally juggling far too many plates, the past four weeks have raced by. I feel equal parts hugely grateful for what these past few weeks have bought me but also a little bit twitchy-eye tired.
I’ve also been trying to work out how to be in this space and what I can offer and bring… Whilst I figure that out (perhaps you can help me by answering the poll below), I wanted to share news of a very special workshop that I’m running next week, which is suitable for Young People in Cornwall.
If you are local and know of any young people who may be interested in attending, I would be so grateful if you could spread the word. Thanks so much for reading and I very much hope to be back here properly again soon.
All the best,
Lucy x

A joy-filled creative writing and art workshop for young people exploring what we can do to help our mental health
PLEASE NOTE: This session is intended for young people from 11 - 18 (or up to the age of 25 for young people with additional needs).
Join me and Ruth Purdy with support Your Art Connect CIC for a joy-filled workshop of creative exploration, engaging our senses and creating unique pieces of poetry, cyanotype prints and collage.
We’ll explore where we can find joy, how we can use our everyday ‘ordinary’ as inspiration, how journaling can support us to process our emotions and use photography and collage to create unique pieces of art.
It will be an opportunity for all participants to think about what they can do to look after their health and wellbeing.
Participants will leave the session with a Joy List Poem, a cloud collage, a cyanotype picture and some creative writing prompts that they can use at home.
This session supports Cornwall Council’s Mental Health and Engagement Project, which will contribute to and inform The 2026 Director of Public Health Report for Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly.
During the session, we will be collecting and capturing anonymous responses about what participants can do to look after their health and wellbeing, think about why it is important to them and consider where they can find help.
By engaging in this session, participants agree for their anonymous responses to be included and form part of:
• The 2026 Director of Public Health Report for Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly.
• The promotion of the report
• Wider Cornwall Council service planning and development for all age mental health programmes, including the suicide prevention strategy for Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly.
PLEASE NOTE: This session is intended for young people from 11 - 18 (or up to the age of 25 for young people with additional needs).
If you know of any young people based in Cornwall, who would like to spend an afternoon exploring what they can do for their mental health through creative writing and art we would be so grateful if you could share this event with them.
Thanks so much for reading.
